Great pictures Ray, Where about in St.Hubert is CSA located?
Might you have an address?
Here's a thought to every one out there, how about a field trip to
CSA? Lets have some feed back?

I encountered the same problem but it goes away.
Ray
Frequently when I try to go to our Yahoogroup site I get an error message that says this page cannot be displayed. Does anyone else have this problem - or is it just me?
In any case, if it happens just click on "Refresh" and it will then take you to the site.
Last January 31 I had the opportunity to tour the Canadian Space
Agency Headquarters in St. Hubert south of Montreal. Very
interesting to see the Canadarm and learn about the intricacies of
it. We actually saw the mockup of the space station where all
astronauts come to learn and test their skills at operating the
Canadarm whether for the shuttle or the Space Station. Saw various
scaled down versions of many satellites presently in orbit being
controlled by CSA.
You should see the Control Centre they are developing for NASA to be
able to control all maneuvres of the Canadarm on the Space Station.
It will be the first remote control centre outside the US that NASA
has approved.
We were allowed to take pictures only in certain sections of the
Agency. Talk about securiy, every door in the building is
controlled. I was able to take a few pictures outside the Secured
areas which I posted in the photos section.

That 20 in. scope looks awesome but what is more awesome is that a
youg man from Cornwall, now Long sault, is working on the programming
of this scope. It must be thrilling to work on such projects and
being able to test these products which are being sold worlwide.
Keep up the good work Ray and congratulations.

Great Dan said he'd foot the bill for that if I provide the spot and
building to house it.
Oh ya ... cost will be around 30k USD.

Hahaha . that would be sweet. You should see Jupiter in this thing -
simply amazing!
It usually takes two of us to hold the OTA and another spotter to connect
to the base - not something you want to take on a hiking trip ;-) I'm
currently writing the control code to turn it into a GOTO scope.

Hi Dan,
The message below says 12:20PM ... was that not when you sent it?
Or are you referring to the time in the header of the message - if so, then
that one will show 5 hours in advance, which happens to be Greenwich Mean Time.

G'day eh, guys
I've just included fotos of the latest 'scope from Celest.
Just the thing for Ray st.'s future observatory in Long sault.
P'haps Ray-the-saint can provide us with essential details..cost,etc.
The dia. of this scope is 20"

hahaha ... Hi Dan .. knew that would catch your attention ... all in fun ;-)

Hi guys
I'ev tried a couple of times to send smsg...but obviously to no
avail. WASUP??!!
` Dan
Assuming that this will get through...Welcome Ray & Ray
Your fotos add some meat to the mix Ray L. Good Show!
At the risk of boring Ray St with my incessant babble...
'lo Ray, glad you have found the "right" spot.`
Congratulations on setting up this group on Yahoo.
It's been a long and cold winter with a blatant lack of photons. Finally we can observe without freezing. I set up my telescope on the side of the house last Saturday and Monday night for a few hours. great fun , kids and parents stopped and admired the planets Saturn, venus, Mars, Jupiter, Pleiades, Orion nebula, the Moon.
Wait till you see my new observation chair and valise which I built over the winter months. They are in mahogany to match my telescope, pretty cool !!!!!!
Can't wait to meet for an observation night pretty soon I hope.
I observed only twice since Xmas at -17 and -25C was it ever cold. Once in Casselman and once near Valleyfield.
Welcome aboard Ray.
I just bought a house this week, just outside of Long Sault (Parkway
Estates). Move in date around June 1st. The back yard seems to be fairly
dark and open. I'm hoping to set up an observatory of some sort in the
fall. Maybe we can hold some get togethers there this summer. Y'all are
welcome ... except for Dan of course ... he talks too much ;-)
Things are going well with Celestron - keeping me pretty busy. Hoping
they'll send me a 14" for testing soon ;-)

G'day guys! Glad to see you are finally in, Dan. Why'd it take so long eh?
Seriously, I am free for Sunday. What time should we be there?
Please, everyone, feel free to post any photos you have. Remember they have to be in jpeg or gif format. I added a few links in the "links" section (DUH!) so that feature works ok.
Hi guys, This msg may actually get to you....I've had some difficulty!! WELL DONE WILLY!! This is a good idea that has finally been realized.....why did it take so long?/ I thought I'd mention a couple of events we should decide upon. 1 Cooper Marsh pre-easter event...THIS sunday Some help may be needed from Marsh members
2 The "annual" activity on the 24th in ALEX. Can you confirm this Heinz?
3 World astron week .. Other than 24th will we do something else where?? Perhaps on the 1st weekend?? Maybe an Astro camp at the Marsh??
Thats a big 10-4 good buddy
What Easter event is this?
Besides I've already made plans.
As per Civic Pride Day/Earth Day events I've not heard anything yet
from Wendy.
Anything after that I'm pretty much tied up with spring planting until
June.
Heinz

Hi again, Heinz. This is great - the size of our group has doubled
overnight. Please try doing some things with it such as putting in
photos etc. I tried entering a photo my son gave me but it isn't
jpeg or gif format. I'd like to see if all these features really
work. Also it might be a good idea to put your name in the phonebook
(under "Database") so we have that info at hand.
Bill
I'm impressed, good thought you had there on starting our own site. I guess now we can put this site on all of our material too. By the way where is Dan? Is he still lost in the Nebula of space.
