hi - we have a big old wooden whiskey cask that we used as a rain barrel last
year.. alas we did n ot empty it before the winter freeze and the bottom layer
of tar is all gone.
we have decided to go with a lower maintenance plastic barrel this year, but if
anyone wants the quite lovely looking wood one, either to re-tar the bottom and
use as a rain barrel, or to use as a big planter, please let me know!

Haven't seen many posted on here but hoping a request will cause some
basement hunting. I am looking for something to use to make pesto
primarily so anything that would accomplish that would be great.
Pick-up is difficult for me since I do not drive but I can pick up
anywhere around downtown and am willing to go to the stone rd. area as
well. Thanks!

Comfrey is ready to transplant. Pls respond with your phone number.
I have about 20 little clumps coming up in a spot where I don't need
them. At present the leaves R maximum of 6 inches long, and just
small clumps, about the size of a big dandelion plant. I think this
would likely B a good time to transplant when the leaves r small, as
later when the plant is larger there is a lot of die back and most of
the leaves need to B trimmed off then anyways.

I think everyone who gardens should grow some of this fantastic plant
for their health, or to have on handy for an emergency for others. not
to get too preachy. U may have noticed I am a big comfrey fan.

I have never had a problem with comfrey actually spreading in the 4 or
5 years that I have had it. However, once U plant it somewhere, it is
true that U may NEVER get rid of it by normal methods, which includes
poisoning. Don't worry, i've never poisoned mine . Everything in my
garden is pesticide free so far.

I have about 20 little clumps, and I am hoping NOT to give it to that
many people. Would prefer to give most of it to a maximum of three
people if we can make that work, as I've been giving a lot of plants
and seeds away, and it's just a bit time consuming for me during
gardening time. Don't mind U sharing amongst each other if U find
that's too much.

happy gardening

mary
