Bengal Cat Rescue Yahoo Group
It's mostly American, but I found my wonderful Bengal there (and saved him from going to the Humane Society) after losing his "mom". Bengals are lively, intelligent, beautiful cats and are not very common. There are breeders near here; this list is for cats who can't be returned to their breeder or are found or abandoned. They also look for rescuers, foster homes, transporters - not just Bengals but other cats like Siamese, Occicats, Savannas...

The Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary's mission is to rehabilitate injured or orphaned small animals for their eventual release back into the wild. The Sanctuary is the only Authorized Wildlife Rehabilitation facility for small mammals in the Ottawa region. As a not-for-profit organization, the Sanctuary relies solely on the generosity of the public and its volunteers. Please visit the website to view the Wishlist of items that are needed for 2007. If you can spare some of your time, please call the office at (613) 258-9480 regarding volunteer opportunities. Thank you for your support!

Trinity of Hope Dog Rescue
Ottawa-based federally-incorporated non-profit. registered charity Giant breed rescue group assisting abandoned Saint Bernards and Newfoundlands throughout Canada. We have received funding from the Community Foundation of Ottawa for our kennel renovation project. Our kennel renovation project wish list includes: patio stones, 12 ft. x 6 ft. chainlink panels, drywall, ceramic tiles. We also need volunteer labour during July and August to assist with taking down an existing interior wall, plumbing, and general labour (construction). Contact Admin@TrinityofHope.on.ca to offer materials or to lend a hand. Note: We cannot take in any dogs while the renovations are underway. We'd like to be able to assist dogs again as soon as possible as August is typically a very busy month with respect to intake requests.

Wild Bird Care Centre
Ongoing wish list from worms to Canadian Tire money. "We are urging the local public to contact us right away when they find a bird in plight, instead of trying to rehab it themselves. Several instances have occurred when well-meaning, but inexperienced individuals have tried doing the ‘rehab’ themselves. Incorrect or insufficient diet can create life-threatening problems for injured or orphaned birds."
