I found a nice site.
Gather.com is a great place for writers.
Here's the link:

I found this interesting website for readers and, I think, for writers.
It's called LibraryThing, and basically a place to catalogue your
favourite books online, interact with people who like those books,
find books you haven't read or just converse with book lovers.
What's interesting for writers, at least in my opinion, is if your
book is on amazon or another online retailer, you can list it in your
catalogue. Instant free publicity. Also, there are a couple of other
features for authors.
If you are an author with one book published at one of the places in
their Search Library (such as Amazon etc.) you can become an official
LibraryThing author. You get a little yellow button graphic for your
profile.
And they have a program called LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This
allows publishers to summit books to be reviewed by LibraryThing
members before official publication. And if your publisher is not
currently part of their program, they have a form letter you can send
to your publisher asking them to participate.
All you have to do to join LibraryThing is sign up, and catalogue your
favourite books online. They offer a free sign up (with a 200 book
limit on how many books you can add to your catalogue) or an unlimited
$10 per year fee, or an unlimited lifetime membership for $25.
There are lots of interesting people there, and they all love to read
books.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have revised my short story
collection, Inside Realms.
It now contains nine stories, and has a new cover and price. It is
still available on Lulu.com, but within a few weeks it will be
available at online retailers.
You can preview the changes here: http://www.lulu.com/content/1156075
I'll update when it becomes available online.
For the entire month of January you can download a free PDF excerpt of
Chronicles of the Undead from my website:

Family Secrets.
Three generations of one family share their intimacies with the world
of the vampire. Unveil the revelations and the horror of the Undead.
Chronicles of the Undead is narrated as the personal journals of
Samuel, Edmund, and Charlotte Harrington; this novella tells three
stories of temptation, vengeance, and redemption.
There is also a free download of a short story available, as well as
one of my poems.
Men and women are always curious about how to engage each other in conversations about money. What questions are OK to ask? When do you start asking direct questions about money? Everybody wants to be sure they are financially compatible before they commit to a long-term partnership, but very few are comfortable talking about the issues....

For the past few months I've been walking around trying to conceal this secret that I've been living with. It's bugging me because I feel like there isn't anyone out there who understands my situation.
I don't know who to turn to..who I can talk to? I'm really afraid that people will laugh at me, or look down on me. Believe me I'm trying to make it...it's hard. I'm not here to ask for money or even your sympathy. Really, a little understanding would be nice.....

Author, Nick Chiles opinion after entering a book store....
"With an extra spring in my step, I walked into the "African-American Literature" section - and what I saw there thoroughly embarrassed and disgusted me.
On shelf after shelf, in bookcase after bookcase, all that I could see was lurid book jackets displaying all forms of brown flesh, usually half-naked and in some erotic pose, often accompanied by guns and other symbols of criminal life. I felt as if I was walking into a pornography shop, except in this case the smut is being produced by and for my people, and it is called "literature."
This is a conversation worth having. Leave a comment and/or sign up to be a blog follower to receive a FREE e-book from author RL Taylor. (FREE Book Offer expires Oct 29th)
