Electrique's Reawakening   Message List

Location: Somewhere in Paris
Players: Magneto, Scott, Ororo, Mystique, Cordelia, Bobby and Zandra
with cameo by Caliban and some Technicians

Somewhere Near Paris -- Brotherhood Main Safehouse
In the waiting area, it's been tense for the last hour or so, most of
the technicians watching for any signs of Electrique on their
sensors, and nearly everyone looking at Caliban every few seconds.
And then, the moment finally comes. Caliban looks up, turning his
hear around as though he can hear some noise nobody else
can. "Caliban sense electricitygirl..." he says loudly, nervously
(and, unfortunately, that nervousness tends to spread outward towards
nearby people), and then turns and points in a certain direction.

Scott stares at Caliban thoughtfully, not doubting the other mutant
has detected the rogue, but wondering how is that nobody has taught
him to speak normal English in all his months with the Brotherhood.
Maybe talking in third person is one of his mutant powers, or
something. "How far?"

Ororo stands calmly, her concentration elsewhere as she awaits
the 'word'. The time she had spent in preparation will now,
hopefully, pay off as she the nearby British Isles reprieve from
their wet, soggy weather to bring it here. Rain and fog upon demand.
Turning to Caliban, her eyes already beginning to fade from their
deep blue, she whispers, "Where?" her voice beginning to mimic the
breathless sound of the wind.

Mystique checks her weapons one last time and stands. Where and how
far? Well, that's been asked. So she'll wait for now, and follow.
Perhaps now Caliban will earn his keep...

Cordelia, meanwhile, plays with a yo-yo and tries not to peer around
too much. ...well, what, you wanted her to look solemn and impressed?
She is, of course, but she's not going to show it. Especially not in
front of Bobby. It'd ruin her rep as being 'hip'.

Leave it to Bobby to bring a Gameboy Advance to an event like this.
As his thumbs fly over his 'lil game console, he can't be bothered by
such nonsense as 'Caliban sense electricitygirl' when he's about to
beat a level in Mario. Besides, playing a game is really helping to
steady his nerves. And he has a sinking feeling that he might need
some pretty steady nerves soon.

Caliban shrugs at Scott's question. "That way, somewhere? Caliban not
sure." He's great on directions, not so great on distances,
especially when he's still having trouble telling the difference
between a metre and a kilometre, despite the Brotherhood trying to
teach him. A technician rushes to his side with a compas, looking in
the direction Caliban's pointing. "North, north west..." And then he
reads off a series of numbers that area meant to be a little more
exact. Magneto nods. "Contact B team, tell them to get started. I'll
take Caliban out for a second reading." A button is pressed and a
ceiling skylight opens, and Magneto envelops both him and Caliban in
a magnetic bubble. They start floating upwards and out.

Scott barks some orders in French through one of those fancy wrist-
mounted communication devices the Brotherhood uses when cellular
phones are not to be trusted, and then leads the rest of the mutants
towards the vehicles. They go by land since Magneto is the only flier
present and probably is going to be too busy dodging lightning to
help with transportation.

Her eyes blazing now, Ororo turns her face skyward toward the opening
recently used by Magneto and Caliban, an almost sensuous smile of
pleasure touching her lips as she urges the systems that she's called
to the coordinates. She would have to go outside soon, to ensure her
accuracy, but that would be a good starting point. Nodding
satisfaction with the beginnings of her rain, soon to be followed by
the fog, she heads for the vehicles, her stride strong and sure.

Mystique follows unhurriedly, form blurring a moment to something a
little less, well, blue, for outside consumption. She'll keep up,
never you mind...

Cordelia hops up and gives Bobby an amused nudge with one
elbow. "Better put that away before we meet Ms. Zappy, or you might
get it fried," she teases. Sheesh, Bobby and his consumer
electronics...

Filled with apprehension, Bobby slides the oblong Gameboy Advance
into a coat pocket, leaving his hands with nothing to do.
Drily, "It'll probably get fried anyway..." After glancing around for
a few brief seconds, Bobby sticks his hands inside his pockets as
well, his shoulders hunching into a shrug. "So...what am I supposed
to do? Fire off witty-quip after witty-quip?"

Over the communications link, Magneto reads off position and
directions, provided by Caliban. After the third, a technician breaks
in with, "I think we've got it. An industrial manufacturing plant..."
The address is given (it's not that far away, assuming no traffic
they could probably reach it in a few minutes), and those drivers who
are ready get set to go.

With a wave of bright blue hair, Zandra dashes after Bobby and
Cordelia after dragging along behind. She's trying to get reaquainted
with the magnetics of the area and with Magneto present it's even
more difficult. Her heavy boots thump along the old and cracked
streets as she nearly bumps into her friends. "Hey... sorry, got um..
into th' wrong shuffle... " she gives a shy smile.

And there they go, in a couple dark blue vans with tinted windows,
and the enterprising driver of Scott's van, who must have some warped
sense of humor, has the soundtrack of Impossible Mission on the
stereo system. Cute. Not. Friday night in Paris and raining, well, at
least there isn't much traffic once they get to the industrial park
where the plant is... and not too many witnesses either, probably.

Slowing her pace at Bobby's question, Ororo pauses, waiting for him
to catch up to her, though still moving toward the vehicles. "Bobby,"
she says, her voice rasping slightly as she maintains control of her
summoned storms, "Electrique needs to be grounded, so that she is
manageable. While we do have thallium-doped, mercuric-cuprate ceramic
rings, we need you to lower temperatures sufficiently to turn normal
matter into superconductors. You can do this." The last question
coming out as more of a statement, as she is quite certain that if
Bobby were incapable, he would not be here. Period.

Mystique smirks faintly, closing her eyes as they ride. And she gets
to be... the distraction. Not that she won't do it, or that she'll
gripe or anything, but, sheesh. Really now. She's four times as old
as the now-indespensible Pack children. It's just a bit embarassing.

Cordelia, meanwhile, settles in beside Zandra and Fidgets. First they
don't want her scanning people, now they want her psychically
whomping on someone... Sheesh, make up your minds! Is she supposed to
scan people or isn't she? Hmmf. Oh, well. If she gets fried during
this, she's /so/ coming back and haunting the Brotherhood.

Getting into the van that houses his Packmates, Bobby blink-blinks at
Ororo. Superconductors? Stoned ceramic rings? What kind of mad house
has he slipped into? "We'll see...I'm sure I can do it." He sounds
confident, but his stomach is churning and he's not really sure he
can do it. He's never tried turning things into superconductors
before, or even regular, plain Jane conductors.

Zandra Won't let you get fried! Not Cordy Not Bobby! Have no fear,
Zanny's Here! Cept for the fact that she too, is near petrified.
She 's trying not to show it..but hey! This is more scary than taking
on the government! This is another mutant! With Big Bad Powers!
Powers that kicked the butt of the other Bigger Mutant Magnet! How is
she gunna hold up to that! But two magnets are better than one, or so
they say. She is herded along with the others. She cracks her ringed
knuckles and trys to keep the butterflys in her stomach
silent. "It'll be cake Bobby, Cake.. "

Magneto and Caliban are already waiting outside the factory. She's
inside... she's also close enough that Magneto can sense her... as
expected, she's more powerful than before, but it's hard to say
exactly how much. The difference is, right now he's prepared and has
backup... or he will when they all arrive.

And they all arrive a few minutes later, Scott gets out of the van
and into the rainy night, ready to be, well, another distraction for
Electrique, since kinetic energy is useless against her. But at least
he can also give some orders and suggestions, that helps a bit. "Can
you sense Electrique, Cordelia?" Definitively she needs a codename,
Cordelia is too informal and Ms. Morgan-White is way too long.

Ororo waits for Cordelia's reply, as well as the signal from Magneto
and Caliban, her rains and mists stand at the ready now that she is
directly below them.

Cordelia looks to Scott, and closes her eyes, sighing softly as she
reaches out with Sight Beyond Sight(tm). "I'm not sure... I'll let
you know when I've got something, believe me," she replies just loud
enough to be heard.

Bobby has, perhaps miraculously, fallen silent. For the time being,
he's content to simply listen to the lovely spy-tunes (Mental Note:
Tip the Driver), fear that he'll fail to do his part during this
shindig, and worry.
If he was a smoker, he'd be taking a drag right about...now.

Zandra quirks an indigo eyebrow as Scott speaks up. Ugh. She's gunna
get wet. She steps out of the " Bro-Van " and gives a quick glance
about the rusty place. Mmm seek and destroy is the game? Like battle
ship, section A Row 4? Carefully she 'listens' to the EM feilds..
hello? any static? She's felt the presense of other mutants before,
this shouldn't be any different. Cept she's never met this crazy
woman before. Hello? Come out come out wherever you are! Any brightly
lit christmas tree styled auras of vibrant energy to be found? She
means to help, if she can. But with all the metal around from the
industrial park it may be a task and a half.

There is indeed a lot of static, both mental and on the EM bands.
Cordelia would be hard-pressed to pick out any thoughts, but there's
a sense of _something_ in the area... and Zandra and Magneto both
sense that something's not quite right. Magneto waves the others over
to him, then points to the wall and says, "She's through there... I
don't think we have the time for subtlety. She could leave any
moment..."

Scott nods, "very well, I think the other team is ready to cut the
power in the area. Everybody ready? Hit her with all you got... we
have to keep her busy and deplete her energy reserves quickly. It
does not matter if some of our powers are ineffective, she is
powerful but unskilled, she won't know who can hurt her and who can't
until it is too late." And with those words Scott blasts the wall
Magneto was pointing at, and probably several walls behind it... no
subtlety, none at all. -ZARK-

Looking at the warehouse, Ororo wonders only briefly, what her storms
could do if the girl has holed herself in there. Regardless, she does
as was planned. Standing slightly forward, away from the vehicles,
Ororo raises her hands to the sky, her eyes blazing whitely and stark
white hair taking on a life of its own, as she calls down a chilled
rain and, at the same time, raises a cloying winter mist from the
ground around them. Unmistakably on her face, a smile almost sensual
as the powers of her elements bend to do her bidding.

On the other side of the walls, once the debris is cleared and people
can see clearly, is a female shape, brightly glowing in orange and
yellow. She's got her hands inside a large piece of machinery, but
her face turns towards new hole in the wall.

"I can't get a good lock on--" Cordelia begins to say - and then
Scott blows things up. Well. "There she is!" Cordelia comments
helpfully, pointing at the glowy woman. Why is it that she says the
dumbest things under stress? But she's back to business soon enough,
digging into Electrique's mind as best she can.

Mystique responds to this problem the way she responds to so many
others. She finds a spot with a clear line of sight and starts
shooting.

"An industrial park when it's raining? This is the worst place to
fight Electri-" His words are cut off by Scott's blast. Shrugging,
the air around him suddenly thickens and condenses around his body.
In the blink of an eye, the condensation freezes into snow, and then
into his trademark ultra-hard ice. With each deep breath he takes,
his ice crackles and reforms, only ceasing for the moment he holds
his breath and fires a subzero blast towards the orange shape visible
through the hole.

Zandra oh mys. Blink Bink. Dusty. Oh Bright light! She shoulda
brought along her shades. Ah well. Next time for sure. The blue
haired gal brushes the rain off her face and gazes into the broken
building. Yep. She's ready to
'Conserve some Energy' that is if the weather witch's sleet doesn't
freeze her to death. Is it really such a good idea to have them wet?
after all if this woman is pure energy isn't she going to just shocks
us all? Talk about crispy critters. So like what to do? um um um!??
The metal of the machine 'Sparky' is working on 'calls' to her and so
she grabs it in her neon blue glow. With a snarl on her blue painted
lips Zandra rips it up off the ground and attempts to bash the woman
with it. Gee that's gunna hurt.. assuming she's tangible.

Unfortunately, Electrique is not tangible. Both Bobby's ice and
Zandra's ripping out of the ground go right through her, though it's
got her attention. He reaches into the remains where the machine was
connected to the power grid and her light begins to grow in intensity
as she watches. "Iceman, the superconductors!" Magneto
shouts. "Talisman, try and contain her..." He raises his own hands
and focuses the magnetic fields around her, trying to lift her off
the ground where she can't touch the power grid and travel along it.

Scott can't hurt Electrique with his force blasts, but he can destroy
whatever she got her hand in, probably an electric generator... and
thus prevent her from getting stronger. Well, that was the plan, but
Zandra got the machine first. Bashing her is not a good idea. Scott
shoots at the ground at her feet instead, trying to keep her
offbalance. And then the whole park loses power as it is disconnected
from the grid. It is far darker now... although Electrique's glowing
form is easy to spot.

Electrique turns towards the nearby people and speaks... though she's
not actually speaking. What she says can be heard through the
intercom systems... and, somehow, on the radios from the van as well.
She speaks in French, though, but for those who understand her, she
says, << I knew you would be coming, I dreamed of it, but you cannot
stop me, all is electricity. All the world is Electricity. >>
Her 'eyes' (slightly more glowing parts of her face) turn to the
Brotherhood as the power she's feeding on suddenly cuts out, and she
stands, and starts walking towards people. Every few steps she raises
a hand and a blast of electricity comes out... but she doesn't even
seem to be aiming it anywhere, just clearing her path. << I don't
want to keep killing you Grandfather but you cannot lock me up any
more. >>

Though still alert and ready for immediate action, Ororo keeps a
tight reign of her weather, decreasing the rain to a stop as quickly
as she can, but increasing the ground mists, the sort that chills to
the bone even through layers. Above her, the dark clouds boil and
swirl as cold winds push and pull at them, as though begging to
release their burdens, but is not the goddess' will.

A technician comes out of the Van with the ceramic rings, a high
temperature superconductor. Two others lug a container of liquid
nitrogen out of the van... they don't know for sure the limit of
Bobby's abilities, so that's a backup.

Mystique holsters her gun again. Sheesh, not even any good as a
distraction. "Keep your distance!" she advises them all. "Try to keep
something metal between Electrique and yourself!" In the hopes that
it'll 'lightning rod' her blasts, perhaps.

Cordelia, meanwhile, just stands there like an idiot, continuing to
poke at Electrique's brain. Poke, poke, poke... Maybe she can un-
stick something, you never know.

It doesn't really occur to Bobby that sliding over to the technician
would be quicker, so it takes a handful of seconds for him to
traverse the distance on foot. Yanking the rings from their
technician, he closes his eyes...and focuses. The nagging, doubtful
voice in the back of his head keeps on reminding him he's never been
able to cool something to such a low degree before, but he forces
himself to try anyway. And try, and try, and try. After a few seconds
of his surface temperature plateauing at a 'warm' -105.7 F, he
clutches the rings tighter, perhaps unwilling to admit to failure.

Zandra curses to herself, bitting her lip. Why didn't she think of
that? So much for being oh so cool in battle. Bracing herself she
summons up what she can, imagines the stray electrons joining the
ones in the atmosphere, bonding with the EM pulses that net the
world. They instantly form a blue flickering feild of crackling
energy. She's never worked with another magnetic manipulator but she
tries.. and slowly the feilds mesh if the other allows it, to create
a feild powered by both mutants to encase and hold the woman in a orb
of polarized energy. !Ahh it's soo darned cold! Zandra moves closer,
(and further away from where Magneto stands) not such a bright thing
either, but at least there's some partial cover thanks to the rubble.

Magneto and Zandra's fields mesh well, and an orb is created, but
Electrique is extremely powerful. She is, for the moment, lifted off
the ground, but she's threatening to break free any moment as she's
pumping so much energy into the field. "We need to drain off some of
her energy..." Magneto yells. He turns his head to look for Bobby.

Scott ducks as Electrique's blasts in his direction. They might be
poorly aimed, but the bolts are probably quite deadly anyway. But
then Magneto and Zandra manage to contain her, at least for the
moment, and he has time to spare a glance to Bobby. "Iceman, use the
Nitrogen, it will be faster."

Feeling neither warmth, nor cold, though terribly grateful not to be
standing too close to Bobby, Ororo continues to hold the ground
mists, hoping that they will do something to slow this literal bundle
of energy down enough to be dealt with. At the moment, though, they
seem to have little more effect than freezing her team members.

"Goddamnit!" Bobby shouts, tucking the rings under one arm and going
for the bottle of nitrogen. Underneath the layer of ice, his cheeks
are flush with rage and frustration, but it's rage and frustration
he's more than happy to take out on the bottle of nitrogen as he
struggles to open it. The colder-than-Iceman liquid sprays everywhere
when, a few seconds later, he finally manages to open it. Bottle in
one hand, and rings in the other, he starts to (foolishly) dash
towards Electrique.

Zandra doesn't dare look any where but where Electrique is. Tiny
beads of water drip from her temples, is it sweat? the mist? or
rainwater? She surely couldn't be over heating! Her brow is creased
with tension as she struggles to keep the volatile energy entity
contained. She can feel the resistance in her mind, slamming and
ripping at her weakening feilds. From her hands and gauntlets a halo
of neon blue appears, growing brighter and more intense as the young
mutant pushes back at the opposite force. With it comes a humm of
static and feedback, thruming louder with each mental
shove. "Yyyeea...anny...d-day now..w-would be g-good!!" she shouts,
studdering both from the strain and the cold.

Magneto ignores the wetness and the cold... though he does have
brotherhood wear which is somewhat more resistant. He does, however,
notice Bobby rushing towards Electrique. He yells, "No, foolish
child... just cool the rings!" Next time, no more amateurs on
missions. The distraction, unfortunately, is enough to weaken
Magneto's field... or Electrique's offense is getting stronger.
Either way, the field starts to flicker noticeable. Over the van's
radios is a tune which sounds like a French children's song, and on
Electrique's face is a look of satisfaction that she seems to be
breaking through.

Scott can do little more than watch now, but when he sees Bobby he
snaps, "no, let Magneto move the device with his powers, don't get so
close or she will fry you!"

There seems little Ororo can do but keep reign of the elements, and
watch. Hopefully, the mulls as she casts a quick eye about the group,
no one will freeze to death before Electrique is dealt with... by
whatever means.

Mystique crouches there by the van, waiting. If all else fails, she
may have to distract Electrique as best she can, buying time for the
last effort. Until then...

It's at about this time that the power in the rest of Paris starts to
go out. Whoever was on the B-team, they seem to have succeeded in
their job... Electrique will have a hard time getting any more energy
to power her.

D'oh. Coming to a rapid stop when he gets within a handful of meters
from Electrique, Bobby shoots a bemused glance towards Magneto, and
then Scott. Ineffectually holding out the rings for someone to take
from him, "They're cooled! Move them...or something!" Yup. Bobby is a
highly trained, competent member of any team.

"Ahhh! she's getttin' free, do somethin'!" Zandra doesn't wanna get
fried! Oh Bobby's gunna get blasted! No! No and double darn no! She
won't let that happen! She leans into the rubble, "You.. Stay.. In..
There! " A wheel of cleared dust and pebbles roll away in earnest
from the orb surrounding Electrique, the em sheild repelling
everything around it with it's powerful charge. Boy is Zan gunna hurt
later.. that is if she doesn't burn herself out. Then she won't feel
anything at all. Eyes burning bright like cyan embers, she wills more
of the earths' magnetics..but there just isn't any more that isn't
already warped in her psionic grasp.. it slips from her hold. There's
only so much she can do. She doesn't even bother with the rings, she
doesn't dare divide her attention.

Magneto staggers, as despite the best efforts of both of them, the
field breaks down. On one knee, he looks up at Electrique as she
raises a hand towards him. It's then that the rings go flying into
Electrique. The reaction is dramatic... Electrique's body looks,
perhaps ironically, as though it's being electrocuted when the now
superconductive material hits her. Magneto knows it won't last for
long in any event, so he takes a step towards Zandra, reaching out
for her. "We have to re-establish containment..."

Ororo sighs almost audibly, taking her attention off of her task for
but a split second before strict discipline reasserts itself. The
summoned mists, though, take a while to dissipate so such errors are
affordable, though not often.

Beads of liquid nitrogen drip from Bobby's icy second skin as he
raises his hands and fires his second subzero blast of the night at
Electrique. He hopes, perhaps foolishly, that she isn't in pain, that
she's simply being stunned, and that his ice will be enough to
contain her.

Zandra doesn't know what good it will do but she back steps, grabbing
for Magneto's hand to help him stand up. She's feeling rather tapped,
but she's a stubborn one. Giving up is not an option! Her small hand
touches his and she abruptly flinches backwards with a startled gasp!
Her part of the shield flutters and crackles out! Gone! The sudden
deep breath is held and her eyelids half close as she faulters. Her
heavy boots stumble and then she pauses held in place. What holds her
in such a tramatic expression is not immediatly apparent. The glow
about her dims as if siphoned off somewhere else. The power is not
gone. No, it isn't lost or wasted. It is instead put to much, much
better use. Like a crystal resonating perfectly for a psychic, she
unwittingly doubles the greater magnetic manipulator powers. She
herself is lost in a daze of overwhelming sensation, unable to even
defend or move.

Magneto isn't aware immediately that his powers are doubled, he
attributes the new field of magnetic force around Electrique to being
his and Zandra's fields working together. Then, he realizes it's
completely under his control and... it's easy. Well, not as easy as
most of his magnetic feats, but easier to contain Electrique than
before. The sphere is almost perfect now, no bulges from her trying
to break free. He maneuvers it through Bobby's ice and towards a
wall, and then there's a tremendous amount of sparking... to
observers, it looks as though lightning-bolts of energy are leaving
electrique and the ball, discharging into the walls and the ground.
Magneto is slowly removing Electrique's excess power.

For Cordy, if she's still probing, the more energy Magneto depletes
away, the more understandable (and more rational) her thought
processes seem to be... though right now it's still at the stage of
feelings and concepts, rather than words. The static seems to be
clearing up. Now there's a definite sense of fear coming from her.

Ororo slowly begins to lower the mists, lest the accumulated moisture
give the Electric girl an unforeseen advantage, even in this
apparently weakened state.

"I think I'm getting through!" Cordelia calls out. "Keep hammerin' at
her, we're slowing her down!" she says. Of course, she's not really
paying much attention to what's actually going on, lost in the world
of the mind...

Bobby takes a couple steps backwards as he glances towards Zandra,
then Magneto, and finally Electrique. Even if, in the end, he ended
up being little more than a glorified nitrogen handler, the sight of
Electrique slowly discharging fills him with a certain warm 'n
snuggly feeling.

Zandra barely stands on her own to feet. The strain is not apparent
in her face any more. Instead there's a aura of blankness, nearly
like serenity. But not. Her mind is engulfed by the sensation of the
magnetic links, the call of the earth breathing as if alive. She
feels more than sees the energy escaping from the shield. She almost
smiles, the edges of her lips not quite doing more than curling. Then
her eyes fully close and it's up to Magneto to keep her from falling
down. Yet the affect of her channeling has not lessened.

Electrique's voice can no longer be heard... she no longer has the
power to activate the radios and intercoms... nor does she even have
the energy to make her non-corporeal body make real sound. Her lips
do move, first with what could be "Magnus". There's a look of sorrow
on her face, and she mouths other words, in French... it's most
likely 'please', for those who know French. Magneto pulls the energy
sphere into the open air, watching as she repeats whatever she was
trying to say. He reaches out one hand to steady Zandra, then his
eyes focus on Electrique again, and finally close. Suddenly the field
collapses, as instead of trying to contain, Magneto changes to
tearing her apart. All of Electrique's energies dissipate in
different directions until there's nothing left. Cordy might be the
only one who knows for sure that she was afraid of dying and wanted
to be forgiven. Magneto probably told himself that she was asking for
release from her life...
"It is over."

With a heavy sigh, Ororo completely releases the forces at her
command, her eyes slowly regaining their bluish tinge before
returning to their full color. Shoulders slumping, she moves back to
lean on the van, eyes upward to where Electrique had last been. The
lives of many outweighed the life of the one, she repeated inwardly.
Perhaps if she said it often enough, she would begin to believe it.

"Wait..." Cordelia protests. "She... but..." Luckily, she's a bit
stunned from the feedback of having the mind she was trying to probe
into ripped apart, otherwise she might make a big scene, and nobody
wants that.

"We'd better get out of here," Mystique instructs. "Chaos of this
magnitude is liable to bring a great deal of attention here. The
sooner we're gone, the better." Gee, shouldn't she be sad they just
killed someone?

"Oh my God." That simple phrase utterance neatly sums up Bobby's
reaction to this sudden turn of events. Nothing could have prepared
him for Magneto murdering Electrique. Too horrified to properly
convey his reaction any further, and too angry to simply stand about,
he wills a column of ice to appear underneath his feet. It quickly
blossoms beneath him into a rising wave, carrying him off into the
lonely distance.

No quippy remarks. No tears either. A life has been taken.. another
one. Is that what being a mutant is about? The Brotherhood? taking
lives to save others? or is that what it means to be human? She's
beginning to wonder if she wants to be either any more. Zandra
shivers soundlessly before an enormous weight of exhaustion hits her.
Candles turned welding torch, her cyan irises flicker eerily then dim
like the flash of lightening in a receding storm. Then there's
darkness. Cold, wet and drained the young woman collapses against the
hand that holds her. Her breathing is shallow, this took quite a toll
upon her. A new gift it appears, but one with quite a price.

Magneto doesn't betray any emotion, just moves back into the van.
That's not to indicate he felt no emotion. Electrique was... well,
perhaps not like a daughter, but he cared for her, felt responsible
for her. But it wouldn't do for him to show any emotion.
