The Canadian Intravenous Nurses Association, formed in 1975, has been and continues to be, an association which unites all nurses initiating and maintaining I.V.'s.

The Objectives of the CINA are:

• to establish and promote standards of intravenous therapy which will enhance patient care and patient safety;
• To establish and promote educational programmes which will contribute to the above;
• To provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of all matters relating to intravenous therapy;
• To establish cooperation and liaison with all groups, associations, institutions, or bodies in matters affecting the objectives of the Association.
