CARIBBEAN ARCHIVES TASKFORCE FOR DISASTER PROTECTION (CARTAS)

CARBICA, through CARTAS, will develop a broad-based hazard mitigation and response strategy for the protection of records and archives, by providing technical assistance to all countries in the region.

Specifically, CARTAS will

1) forge collaborations and exchanges across the region that will knit together cultures and experiences; and connect archives and records personnel from governments and cultural institutions with disaster management practitioners
2) create a multi-lingual information resource in order to have practical information available that is appropriate and easy to read
3) develop a targeted and strategic response to disasters concerning records and archives, co-ordinating and building on ready and capable expertise in the region
