Welcome to the Gabriola Freecycle group, where one person's junk is another's treasure!

Freecycle is about keeping still-useful items out of the landfill. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, a kids toy, or an old door--rather than throw it out, offer it to someone else that could use it. Freecycle is a great way to declutter your home, too. You are also welcome to ask for things too.

One main rule: everything posted must be *free*.

Participating is simple. Just send an email (or click 'post' on the left) and fill out your message subject line like this:
1 - Specify Offer or Wanted
2 - Specify Item name
3 - Specify Location on island e.g. north end
(eg. "Offer - Bird Cage - near village" or "Wanted - Men's Bike - anywhere")

Please keep all posts family-friendly and legal and note the following:

• NO TRADING, BORROWING, BUYING, OR SELLING
• NO SERVICES OR JOBS
• NO PETS
• NO COUPONS OR TICKETS
• NO PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS
• NO GARAGE SALES
• NO OFF-TOPIC POSTINGS (including announcements, events, and personal messages)

Please remember, this group is only about keeping still-useful items out of the landfill. It is not meant to serve any other purpose (like announcements, buying/selling, discussion, etc). There's nothing wrong with those things--Freecycle just isn't the place for them. The moderators reserve the right to edit or reject inappropriate posts.
