Debating the virtues and morality of accepting gay marriage unions is like discussing the merits of pedophiles catering head start parties for children. How one comes down on the comparison, usually depends upon your own personal value system and culture of acceptable conduct. The red herring of committing a "Hate Crime" for even having the cojones to raise the issue, exemplifies just how far society has sunk to abandon valid intellectual scrutiny. Audacity in the defense of Western Civilization traditions, ethics and, much less religious principles, is rapidly becoming a ubiquitous bias-motivated offense. Celebrating diversity has become accepting depravity.

AIPAC Resolution Demanding War With Iran On House Floor Tomorrow

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives is slated to vote on a resolution designed to tie the president’s hands on Iran policy. The resolution, which is coming up under an expedited House procedure, was the centerpiece of AIPAC’s recent conference. In fact, 13,000 AIPAC delegates were dispatched to Capitol Hill, on the last day of the conference, with instructions to tell the senators and representatives whom they met that supporting this resolution was #1 on AIPAC’s election year agenda.
Accordingly, it is not particularly surprising that the resolution is being rushed to the House floor for a vote, nor that it is expected to pass with very little opposition. Those voting “no” on this one will pay a price in campaign contributions (the ones they won’t receive) and, very likely, will be smeared as “anti-Israel.” That is how it works.
Most of the language in H. Res.568 is unremarkable, the usual boilerplate (some of it factual) denouncing the Islamic Republic of Iran as a “state sponsor of terrorism” that is on the road to nuclear weapons capability.
The resolution’s overarching message is that Iran must be deterred from developing weapons, a position the White House (and our allies share). That is why the sanctions regime is in place and also why negotiations with Iran have resumed (the next session is May 23).
But the resolution does not stop with urging the president to use his authority to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran. If it did, the resolution would be uncontroversial .
But there is also this: The House “urges the President to reaffirm the unacceptability of an Iran with nuclear-weapons capability and opposition to any policy that would rely on containment as an option in response to the Iranian nuclear threat.”
Think about that.
The resolution, which almost surely will pass on Tuesday, is telling the president that he may not “rely on containment” in response to “the Iranian nuclear threat.”
Since the resolution, and U.S. policy itself defines Iranian possession of nuclear weapons as, ipso facto, a threat, Congress would be telling the president that any U.S. response to that threat other than war is unacceptable. In fact, it goes farther than that, not only ruling out containment of a nuclear armed Iran but also containment of an Iran that has a “nuclear weapons capability.”
That means that the only acceptable response to a nuclear armed or nuclear capable Iran is not containment but its opposite: war.
Any doubt that this is the intention of the backers of this approach was removed back in March, when the Senate was considering new Iran sanctions. Senators Joe Lieberman (I-CT), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Bob Casey (D-PA) offered their own “no containment” language to the sanctions bill and the Senate moved to quickly to accept it.
However, amending a bill once it is already on the Senate floor requires unanimous consent and one, and only one, senator objected. Rand Paul (R-KY) said that he would oppose the containment clause unless a provision was added specifying that “nothing in the Act shall be construed as a declaration of war or an authorization of the use of force against Iran…”
That did it.
Neither the Democratic or Republican leadership would accept that (knowing that AIPAC wouldn’t) and Paul’s objection killed the bill, for the time being. In other words, the purpose of “no containment” language is precisely to make war virtually automatic. Because Paul’s provision would thwart that goal, it was unacceptable.
So now it’s the House’s turn.
On the substance, the “no containment” idea is absurd and reckless.
Imagine if President Kennedy had been told by the Congress back in 1962 that if the Soviet Union placed missiles in Cuba, he would have no choice but to attack Cuba or the USSR. If it had, it is likely none of us would be around today.
Presidents need latitude to make decisions affecting matters of national security and, until now, all presidents have been afforded it, as provided for in the United States Constitution. But, in the case of Iran, the cheerleaders for war are trying to change the rules. They are doing that because they understand that after almost a decade of war, the last thing Americans want is another one.
No president is going to ask Congress to declare war, or even to authorize it. Making war against Iran automatic would eliminate that problem. (That is precisely Sen. Paul’s objection; he believes that backing into war is unconstitutional. He recalls the Gulf of Tonkin resolution of 1964 which led to ten years of war in Vietnam and 50,000 American dead without a declaration of war or even a specific authorization for war).
So why would the House vote for a resolution like this? The main reason is AIPAC. It may be the only lobby pushing for war with Iran but it also, by far, the most powerful foreign policy lobby and also the one that sees to it that those who play ball with it are rewarded and those who don’t are punished. AIPAC has been pushing war with Iran for a decade; it won’t stop until the missiles fly.
The other reason is that the resolution is non-binding. Voting for it is good politics but does not affect policy.
Believing that is a mistake. An overwhelming vote for “no containment” may not tie the president’s hands legally, but it does go a long way to tying his hands politically. After all, Congress will be expressing its clear (bipartisan) intent. A president cannot easily ignore that.
Moreover, the lobby is unlikely to stop with a non-binding resolution. Once the House and Senate have passed that, the lobby will look for an opportunity to make it binding. The goal is to take the president’s discretion away from him because this president is unlikely to choose war when there are other options available.
It is those options that the lobby is determined to block. It remains hell-bent for war.
POSTSCRIPT: It can’t hurt to call your House member at 202 225 3131 to tell him that you know about the vote on the AIPAC resolution and will be watching. Assuming the House does not duck for cover by passing this by voice vote, I will post the names of the brave representatives who vote “no.”

Chicago's First False Flag "Barack Attack"

http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/05/14/chicagos-first-false-flag-barack-attack/

By Captain Eric H. May, Ghost Troop CO

Speculation continues to build that the Obama administration and its Israel Lobby handlers will use the 25th NATO Summit to carry out a false flag attack, and according to a recent Canada Free Press article, the Department of Homeland Security intends to strong-arm Americans soon.

In his provocative May 8 story, The planned re-election of Obama, revolutionary style, Doug Hagmann reports that, according to an unnamed DHS source, the federal government is preparing for widespread civil turmoil before the fall elections, which it will use as a pretext for martial law and dictatorship.

Coming shortly before the NATO Summit, Hagmann's information resonates. It wouldn't be the first time a principled official informed the public about looming treason, thereby saving lives. The current Deep Throat should remind counter-false flag activists of another, whose warning to Chicago became a rallying point for diverse defenders.

Less than a month after the Obama inauguration the 9/11 Truth and Patriot movements were hoping that, under a new administration, there finally would be free speech about the abuses of King George and his Bush League, beginning with the truth about September 11, 2001.

On February 6, 2009 the newly installed president held a much-publicized meeting with 9/11 widow and “Jersey Girl” Beverly Eckert, along with dozens of USS Cole and 9/11 family members. All had lost a spouse or parent to “terrorism,” and they asked many incisive questions, although Obama provided few decisive answers. In the next six days, American glasnost became a short-lived reality. Senator Patrick Leahy demanded a “Truth Commission.” As if to accentuate the fact that kerosene won’t melt or demolish steel, the Mandarin Orange Hotel in downtown Beijing burned from top to bottom for 24 hours without falling, let alone collapsing neatly into its own footprint as did the Twin Towers and WTC-7. The gatekeeper Huffington Post, which had previously banned 9/11 “conspiracy theories,” published a two-part op-ed demanding a genuine investigation of the attacks.

At 11:00, p.m. on Feb 12 a highly suspicious aviation disaster over New York State killed the same Beverly Eckert who had a week earlier threatened the American elite with the one thing they can never allow: the truth. An hour later Obama’s Congress posted the Stimulus Bill online. The next day, Friday the 13th, an alarmed House of Representatives voted in favor of legislation that it didn't have the time to read. It was an alarming echo of the Patriot Act vote.

Many believed what Eckert and 48 other passengers had discovered the hard way: Obama could be as murderous as his tyrannical predecessor. Huff-Po and the rest of the limp Left immediately resumed their head-in-their-hole posture about the attacks of 2001. The more militant wing of the 9/11 Truth Movement mobilized, fearing that the next  9/11 might be close. It might even show that a “Nuclear Obama” could one-up a “King George” in mass murder.

Credible chatter from alarmed officials in the Chicago area convinced Ghost Troop that the new president and his Israeli chief of staff “Rahmbo” Emanuel might intend to nuke Sears Tower in the next few days. Major Bill Fox, my executive officer, and I hurriedly published a weekend bombshell:

Chicago False Flag? Analysis and Hypothesis

An alarming report about Chicago reached me Thursday, Feb 12: Inside source reveals FEMA & DHS preparing for mass graves and martial law near Chicago. After I listened to the brief audio part of the report, I found no reason to reject the identification of the speaker as an inside source. As for the particulars of disaster preparations, they are consistent with specific inside information I have been receiving since April/May 2006.

I will analyze the Chicago scenario more in an upcoming column. For the time being, I hope that concerned patriots will review this article and its links. Please forward it, especially to the Chicago area and its first responders. With further networking we shall assimilate and circulate information that the mainstream media withholds or distorts. The new Chicago information dovetails with the December 2008 article by Major William B. Fox, Chicago Cops Dodge Blagojevich/Sears Tower Investigation, about a successful effort by Internet activists to forestall a false flag attempt against the 110-story Sears Tower on May 3, 2006 (its 33rd anniversary), during NLE-06.

Over the weekend our article went viral, and on Sunday, Feb 15 Ghost Troop ally Theresa Mitchell, an astute political analyst who hosted Portland's KBOO-FM Presswatch, wrote: "Well, I know I said it before, but I think you saved our asses (at least for a while) against a Sears Tower demolition. I have little doubt the Mossad/neocon factions are plotting Plan B."

She had "said it before" when NLE-07, which targeted Portland for a dirty bomb attack, collapsed on October 18, 2007. That harrowing day began with an amazed Mitchell broadcasting It pays to monitor terror exercises about a timely Ghost Troop alert to Southeast Texas, which had anticipated a Dow Chemical explosion that morning by four hours. The day nearly ended with a bang as Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff arrived: Bomb scare disrupts terrorism drill. Rumors circulated that Portland police officers had joined the counter-false flag effort, which would explain why they shut down the exercise.

As later events would demonstrate, Mitchell was right about the effectiveness of the Ghost Troop public affairs mission in Chicago. Operating in tandem with Internet activists, starting with those who provided and distributed the insider information, we led a successful cyber campaign.

When Obama signed the Stimulus Bill into law on Tuesday, Feb 17, it was supposed to be the highlight of his first year. He was treated as an abject failure, though, and for no small cause: He had botched the false flag operation against the Windy City, which explains why administration officials immediately began to say that it might take another stimulus program to finish the job:

Signing Stimulus, Obama Doesn’t Rule Out More

DENVER — President Obama has not ruled out a second stimulus package, his press secretary, Robert Gibbs, said on Tuesday, just before Mr. Obama signed his $787 billion recovery package into law with a statement that it would “set our economy on a firmer foundation.”

Just hours later, Yahoo! delivered a powerful kick in the pants to Barack, described but not explained in 'Obama bin Laden' Error Hits Yahoo's Homepage. The morning after a bizarre NY Post editorial cartoon of appeared, linking the Stimulus Bill to a dead chimpanzee, whom some wits began to refer to as "Obonzo."The none-too-subtle message was:

"Boy, you're nothing more than our chimp, and if you can't do what we hired you to do, we'll get rid of you and find another just like you."

I challenge any media critics to give a more plausible explanation of this none-too-subtle racist threat by a Ruppert Murdoch paper against a new "savior" president in his honeymoon phase with the media. The worst-case scenario is all-too-often the truth, and such is the case with Barack Obama. The powers that be selected him to be president because they believed that he was capable of carrying out mass murder for hire, and their payment was the Stimulus Bill. This means that patriots who ask whether he would try to attack Chicago aren't asking the right question, which should be whether he will try to attack Chicago AGAIN.

In December 2008, before Obama's inauguration, Dr. Jim Fetzer, Major Bill Fox and I coauthored “Black Bush” Barack? False Flag Frankenstein?, which was read with outrage by many, some of whom demanded an apology. Considering the way things have turned out, I'm quite ready to apologize. I'm sorry for the article's title, with its unnecessary quotation and question marks, and to atone for my mistake have renamed the Veterans Today edition more appropriately as Black Bush Barack: False Flag Frankenstein.

I extend my gratitude to my friend Abu Salem sofyan, Publisher of  Islamic Intelligence, for his invaluable help with research.

After the invasion of Iraq he undertook a mission of conscience, joining other informed veterans to form Ghost Troop. Since 2004 they have operated to prevent the next 9/11 (9/11/2B). In recognition of their successes, in 2009 The Lone Star Iconoclast published the editorial Captain Eric H. May Deserves Medal Of Honor. Once again, the practices of the "Too Big to Fail" banksters bring the financial money machine to the brink. The J.P. Even the vexing progressive Robert Reich makes an accurate assessment for breaking up the big banks and the resurrecting of Glass-Steagall.

"Word on the Street is that J.P. Morgans exposure is so large that it cant dump these bad bets without affecting the market and losing even more money. And given its mammoth size and interlinked connections with every other financial institution, anything that shakes J.P. Morgan is likely to rock the rest of the Street."

Late May U.S. False Flag Likely

By Captain Eric H. May, Ghost Troop CO

The breaking news from Chicago, ‘NATO 3’ had targeted Obama campaign HQ, Rahm’s house, police stations, prosecutors say, concurs with the analysis below:

The United States is hosting the G8, NATO and the Bilderberg Group in a two-week span, during which elite Russian troops will be occupying key points near Northern Command (NORTHCOM), and it isn't hard to imagine another 9/11 coming from such a sinister combination of brains and brawn.Starting with the premise that a false flag attack by the end of May is more likely than not, I'll present the odds for the top targets and most dangerous days, then evaluate the various entities and individuals likely to be involved.

The top U.S. targets are:

  1. Chicago: 50%
  2. Houston: 20%
  3. Portland: 10%
  4. USS Enterprise: 10%
  5. San Antonio: 5%
  6. Las Vegas: 5%

(Source: MAY MEMO: Top Ten False Flag Terror Targets)

The most likely attack days are:

  1. May 20, Sunday: 10%
  2. May 21, Monday: 15%
  3. May 22, Tuesday: 20%
  4. May 23, Wednesday: 15%
  5. May 24, Thursday: 10%
  6. May 25-27: unlikely
  7. May 28, Monday: 5%
  8. May 29, Tuesday: 10%
  9. May 30, Wednesday: 10%
  10. May 31, Thursday 5%

The probable perpetrators are:

The United States, which in 1962 considered implementation of Operation Northwoods, according to ABC News. It was a false flag plan, prepared and proposed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, based on the targeting of both the military and civilians to provoke a war against Castro's Cuba.

Israel, which had its fingerprints all over 9/11, with both intelligence and demolitions operatives involved, according to the four-part Fox News investigative story Israeli Spy Ring, which added that federal investigators had been told not to investigate the matter. Its position is pretty much summed up in the May 6 JTA article: Obama should be more explicit about strike.

The United Kingdom, which was conducting terror training during the 2005 G8 meeting when the 7/7 attacks occurred in London. The "training" scenario was exactly what happened, according to exercise participant Peter Power's BBC interview, given just hours after the event.

Russia, which has sent an unspecified number of its elite airborne troops to participate in terror training in and around U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM), May 24-31 in a most unsettling scenario: Russian Troops to ‘Seize CIA Facility’ in Elaborate War Games on U.S. Soil. This will be the first-ever operation by Russian soldiers in America, and public affairs officers are doing their best to downplay it, but it doesn't pass the smell test for Cold Warriors -- even the Russian ones.

There has been a precedent of sorts for U.S./Russian military counterterrorism cooperation. On Aug 8, 2010, this headline appeared: Russian, US Air Forces defend commercial aircraft in first-ever joint exercises. A day later, during the exercise and inside the exercise parameters, this happened: Former senator Ted Stevens dies in a plane crash. At present Russia is playing the spoiler to Western geostrategy, from supporting Iranian and Syrian sovereignty to opposing the development of a U.S. missile shield in Europe. All the tensions invite a breakthrough, like the sudden alliance between the Soviet Union and Germany in 1939, which entailed the invasion and partition of Poland by Hitler and Stalin.

Russian Airborne Troops To Take And Hold Denver Airport

The most puzzling question in the minds of Russian military analysts is why the Americans are using Russian airborne troops to be the “protectors” of these vital US intelligence resources instead of the “aggressors” as has always been the case historically. One speculation in this report, however, does note that the scenario to be played out in late May, in Colorado, as planned by the Americans, does, indeed, mirror similar plans of the Russian General Staff of actions to be taken in the case of sudden civil war where “outside forces” would be called upon to protect the government from overthrow by internal forces or armed rebellion by the military.

The G8, which control most of the world's wealth, met at Camp David May 19-20, after a late-ish decision by the Obama administration to move them from their host city of Chicago: G8 summit moved to Camp David last-minute. Students of terrorism will recall that the same G8 was having its 2005 meeting in the UK when the London bus bombings happened. Has the 2012 meeting been a pre-attack strategy session?

NATO, which conducted Operation Gladio during the Cold War, according to the New York Times. A false flag mass murder program. Gladio carried out assassinations and bombings, putting the blame on left-wing terrorist groups in an attempt to keep public opinion in favor of the military alliance.

The Bilderberg Group, which is comprised of more than 100 of the international elite, will be meeting in Virginia May 31  - June 3, under a rigidly enforced media blackout, to consider (some say control) the course of world events.

Barack Obama, who has skeletons in his closet, is susceptible to blackmail. In fact, in the topsy-turvy post-9/11 world, he was probably selected as president because his past meant that he could be controlled, making him a mere operative of the powers that be. In my article this week, Chicago's First False Flag "Barack Attack", I demonstrated that the notorious Dead Chimp editorial cartoon, published on Feb 18, 2009, was directed at Obama for a Chicago false flag foul-up. The impending Barack Attack is better-prepared:

The most critical threat is directed against Obama, though, and it's hidden in plain sight. On the cover of the latest issue of Newsweek is a picture of the president, multi-colored halo above, with the provocative caption "OUR FIRST GAY PRESIDENT." It's at best poor payment for Barack's coming out in favor of gay marriage, a cause dear to the media. At worst it is much more, a not-so-subtle threat to "out" the president for past or present homosexual or bisexual behavior. It's the kind of ruinous charge that most men would do anything to avoid.

Rahm Emanuel, whose loyalty to his country is paramount, will serve its interests. Unfortunately for Chicagoans, that country isn't the United States. His Israel-first credentials are impeccable: his father was a member of the Jewish terrorist Irgun, and Rahm served in the Israeli military during the First Gulf War. Accentuating his desire to be the Rudy Giuliani of Chicago was his selection of a new top cop shortly after coming into office last year: Garry McCarthy's leadership skills forged in 9/11 aftermath.

The Secret Service, which might check 9/11-style presidential outlawry, is being blackmailed, its peccadilloes turned into an albatross by a sudden show of morality. Its judgment day comes at crunch time: Secret Service sex scandal: Congressional hearing set for May 23. It's all reminiscent of the Clinton/Lewinsky affair, and in the limelight for both that and now this scandal is Joe Lieberman, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security Committee. Howling and scowling Peter King, who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee, is his sidekick. A couple of months ago the latter chairman fed the media this welcome fodder: We have a duty to prepare for the worst': Peter King says Iran has hundreds of Hezbollah agents in the U.S.

The FBI, which can be counted on to do everything in its power to facilitate another false flag, as it did with the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11.

The CIA, which is headed by General David Petraeus, is infamous for its dirty dealings. Petraeus is officially known for leading U.S. forces in two failed wars, and unofficially reputed to be the man who ordered the assassination of his too-scrupulous subordinate, Colonel Ted Westhusing.

Captain Eric H. May is a former Army NCO and officer, with specialties in nuclear, biological and chemical warfare, military intelligence and public affairs. He is also a former NBC editorial writer who has published widely, from Military Intelligence Magazine to The Wall Street Journal. The horror stories about the Transportation Security Administration are indisputable. In the post 911 environment, civil liberties routinely ignored or eliminated, become a mere memory in a country that once prided itself as the beacon of freedom for the entire world. The TSA is part of the Department of Homeland Security. FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is also an agency of DHS. The public relation spin for the purpose of such authorities is to protect citizens and guard the nation. The reality is that DHS bureaus have the same mission, keep the government safe from potential real or imaginary threats. Interpret threats to mean anyone who opposes the establishment regime, now known as, the military-industrial-financial-security complex.

The New York State Public Service Commission draft (link for comments) from the New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment for the proposed regulations to the Power NY Act 2011, known as Article X is deficient in its mandate. Since a SEQR review for electric generation projects that fall under the new regulations is no longer a requirement, New York State is effectively writing new regulations that abdicate the oversight role of the Department of Environmental Conservation. The motive to fast track permitting approval at the expense of environmental protection demonstrates a bias in favor of developer projects. Therefore, in order to establish an equitable balance in interests, it is prudent to include a comprehensive citizen participation process within the administrative structure of the DPS.

Democratic politics is a false premise experiment. The foundation of the modern liberalism, based upon an erroneous worldview, is a dead end ideology. Compared to the mad NeoCon war-mongering alternative, the fatal attraction of progressives, allures weak minded and desperate people into thinking government can provide solutions. Step back from the false left-right political discussions and focus upon the principles that make up sound and balanced standards for a civil society.

The one inescapable drag on the economy and every American taxpayer or government dependant is the interest obligation paid on the national debt. Indebtedness is nothing new to this country, but the inability to service the public debt stretches over the last half century. This trend is so disturbing that politicians spend every waking hour avoiding the consequences of the ultimate outcome, the demise of the currency. The reserve currency status that has allowed for effortless deficit spending has a day of reckoning. The final collapse of the global empire and superpower will smell more of financial evaporation than of a military defeat.

The notorious Nixon hit list seems so placid when compared to the actual lethal force used by President Barack Obama, that one wonders how long it will be before the drone fleet turns their target munitions inside our own borders. The recent disclosure that Barry Soetoro, AKA, Barack Hussein Obama pours over a master list of threats against the establishment regime and picks the most dangerous candidates for surgical removal, demonstrates the care and precision used against "certified terrorists". Such is the latest method of keeping the institutions of the "Homeland" safe from nasty combatants that challenge the officially recognized empire.

Mother Russia is a much different country from the Stalin gulags. With all the faults of a long tradition of authoritarian rule, it is natural for observers in the West to be suspect of the latest would be Czar. The remnants of the cold war linger with concerns of the true motives and goals of a second Vladimir Putin era. By most reliable accounts, he never left the power circle prior to his return as President. Upon his latest election, The Guardian published an article Putin's election victory is a headache for the west. "Nobody is any doubt that the Putin who returns to the Kremlin in May is the same Putin who has effectively run Russia for the past 12 years – prickly, uncompromising, suspicious and fond of snide remarks about western hypocrisy and double standards."

Syria: Impending False Flag Media PSYOP On The Horizon

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
With the Syrian crisis heating up amidst heightened agitation by NATO powers and the announcement by Russian officials that two military combat divisions and one brigade of Russian troops are being readied in order to support the Assad government, very disturbing reports are now being echoed by reliable sources such as Thierry Meyssan and Webster Griffin Tarpley regarding a potential false flag in the region.
The event, which would take the form of staged massacres, rebellions, and resignations, using television studios and the commandeering of Syrian television, would serve the purpose of both spreading disinformation across the world and a campaign of demoralization against the Syrian people.
According to Meyssan, the event could take place as early as Friday, June 15, at noon...

Wikipedia provides the following attribute of mysticism as "the knowledge of, and especially the personal experience of, states of consciousness, or levels of being, or aspects of reality, beyond normal human perception, including experience of and even communion with a supreme being."

For well over the last decade BATR has argued that the Republic is dead. Now that the Supreme Court has rendered their decision on Obamacare, there can be no doubt that the funeral for a nation, born out of a revolution for liberty, is over. The country, buried in the ashes of totalitarian despotism, is now history.

The plurality of citizens naively accepts that the national government has legitimacy. Such a claim is erroneous. What more proof does one need that slavery is the official status for the American public. The implication of affirming the health insurance mandate sets the precedent for and escalates an unlimited federal tyranny.

Anyone who has ever injected politics into a discussion knows that it guarantees controversial discourse. People agree on very little, these days. It was not always that way. Once upon a time, there was a basic consensus on fundamental core worldviews. God was revered, natural law was accepted and tyranny was despised. Now, we live in perpetual chaos after burying the Almighty, discarding traditional values and tolerating permanent despotism. What remains is politics conducted as a fantasy sport game. Avoidance of reality is the source of national pride.

Without a comprehensive understanding in this axiom of the financial universe, much of public policy and finance is incomprehensible. The different positions of the borrower and the lender is obvious, but the notion that one can earn enough interest on savings to maintain the purchasing power of the principle is a bygone fantasy in the era of low interest rates.

The corporatist culture of lobbyist Jack Abramoff is alive not only on K Street, but in the offices of the New York State Public Service Commission. It will not resemble the Soviet style of government ownership, because many business decisions will no longer rest with owners, but will need conformity to rules that benefit favored enterprises.
