LOANERS - AN "OK" IDEA FOR Freecycle™
=====================================
Asking to borrow an item (typically, a piece of equipment that one only
needs once in a blue moon) rather than asking for it outright is acceptable,
so long as both parties -- the borrower and the lender -- agree to the loan
and no money changes hands.
For "loaner" transactions to work, the borrower must accept responsibility for
the item, including returning it to the lender by the time agreed upon and in
the same condition in which it was loaned out. Items like rug steam cleaners
need to be cleaned before returning.
Enforcing loaner agreements like this is entirely the business of the parties
involved, not of Freecycle nor its local moderators.
Examples of possible "LOANER" items are: hedge clippers, ladders, paper
shredders, power washers, snow blowers, lawn rollers, rug shampooers. These are
items that typically sit unused for long stretches of time and could easily be
shared at the neighbourhood level.
Please post as follows: WANTED: LOANER item (Location),
Or if you have an item you are will to lend out... OFFER: LOANER item
(Location).
Yours in Freecycle

This cell phone powers up or at least it did when it was last charged.
I don't know if it will work or not, I bought it about a year ago and
found it doesn't accept chips, so I think it is from Bell.
I only use chips.
If interested please email me.
I will decide in 24 hours in order to give the people on digest a
chance to see this offer.

I have an older Coffee Machine Maker but I don't know if it works or
not, I think the last time it was used it worked, but then I loaned it
to someone and they eventually bought a new one and returned this one
to me.
If anyone is interested please email me. I will decide who is the
lucky person after 24 hours to give the people on digest a chance.

Three items pending pick-up; the rest is still available. Pick-up
please, and if you specify the items by name and number I'll have an
easier time keeping track of everything. Here goes:
3) Red plastic CD rack from Ikea, 1 ft square, lays horizontally (also
has holes to allow screwing to a wall).
4) Igloo mini-ice-chest "six-packer" (for soda I think), plastic,
green with white top and blue handle.
5) PolarBag insulated storage bag, about 1.5ft x 1.5ft flat, with
handle.
6) Corded phone from AT&T, off-white. Has built-in answering machine
tape, but I don't have the power adaptor that this part would need.
8) 90-minute blank audiotape, still in original wrapping, Fuji brand.
9) Two metal boxes with lids, 6"x6" square, about 2" deep; one with
summery floral pattern, the other with a map of Hawaii in green and
map-parchment-beige. Originally contained macadamia nuts.
10) Rainbow-colored plastic Slinky.
11) Jumprope, purple plastic with black handles, still in convenient
carrying tube.
12) Aerobie "Jelly Disc" frisbee-like thing, purple soft plastic.
13) Nerf mega-darts, large size nerf darts with suction-cup tips for
use in nerf air-jet dart guns. (These are the large size, too big for
our nerf air-gun. :-)
14) Red key lanyard to hang your keys around your neck, from
Northwestern University.
15) Two compact-fluorescent lightbulbs, barely used. These have a
slight 60-Hz flicker which drives my spouse up the wall, so beware.
(I think they might have acquired it by being used in a lamp which we
didn't realize had a dimmer until too late.) Might be good for
someplace where flicker wouldn't bother you. They are 18 watt
(equivalent to 60 or 75 W or so incandescent) and should fit in the
space of an ordinary incandescent, though they are a tad wider at the
base of the bulb.
16) Canadian Tire coupons (good through Dec 31) from this month's
HydroOttawa bill for energy-saving items: Ceiling fan $5 off; LED
christmas lights $5 off; compact fluorescent lights $3 off;
programmable thermostat $15 off; indoor light and appliance timer $1
off (you plug it into the wall then plug the appliance into it);
indoor pool and hot tub timer $4 off.
Hi All!
We are building a house and staying in a little cottage with limited
heat while we build and need to borrow a Kerosene heater (no electric
please) while we are staying there. It would be for about one month for
pretty constant use and big enough to heat around 400 square feet. If
anyone has one that we could borrow or take off your hands it would be
very much appreciated. We can pick up.
Thanks,
Monique
I am posting this for a friend.
I have a very good friend who is a struggling single father who's
microwave just gave up the ghost. If you have one or know of someone
who does, please let me know.
Respectfully;

I have a large two-tub laundry washbasin thing that would be perfect
for someone who wants to dye fabric or do art projects involving
fabric. Pick up only, asap.
Hi there,
Xmas is on its way and I would like to get a wooden train set for my little guy
who is turning 3 in May. I am on a really tight budget this season being on
call and not working these days. If anyone has one hanging around that their
kids have outgrown, my son and I would be truly greatful. It would make some
little boy very happy and I promise to pass it on once he outgrows the toys.
Thanks for considering!

I have two King Size Pillows to offer. They have never been used. They come
from a mattress store and were the "demo pillows" that you see covered on the
mattresses for show. They are perfect for "Decor" pillows or if you like
soft/med pillows.
