Hi, my name is Lori & I am 40 yrs old & I have been taking (Paroxetine) Paxil
now for approx 10 years for anxiety & occassional panic attacks. Because of my
loss of sexual desire, the headaches & weight gain, I have attempted to
discontinue its use on my own several times & so far without success. Usually by
the 2nd or 3rd day of the taper, I would experience many dibilitating withdraw
symptoms such as migranes, dizziness, hold/cold sweats, insomnia, trembling,
confusion, heart palpitations, crying spells for no apparent reason, memory
loss, nausea, fatigue, etc. I am currently trying once again to taper down from
the med & this time hopefully in a more safer manner. I hope to be successful &
off the med completely within a few months. I am trying a different method this
time & my goal is to taper down 10% each week from the current 20mg, change my
diet, exercise & use supplements such as Protein, Omega 3's, B-vitamins, D-3,
etc. I am currently 6 days into my taper & so far am feeling quite well. I hope
that with tapering slowly, eating a healthy diet & using supplements, it will
help me through my taper process without having many symptoms. I have done
research on the effects & withdraws of Paxil & have learned it is not easy drug
to discontinue. I hope in time, I can rid this drug completely from my system &
hope someday to feel real emotions again & have a clear mind once & for all.
Best of luck to those of you who are experiencing or have experienced the same
challenges that I have. Be sure to hang in there as I know there are going to be
some wonderful days ahead.

Go on internet and purchase a product called Reliv, it will help a lot with
depression and energy level, I can't get off paxil myself, it's been 12 years,
there's a certain percentage that can't and that's why people sued Glaxco
because there was information held back when paxil was put on the market. Again
try Reliv, it's out of St. Louis Missouri, and it's just a powder with excellent
nutrients in it. My friend was going to take an early retirement because of
sleeplessness and other problems with her fibromyalgia and she started drinking
it within 3 days she felt significantly better, it's been 4 yrs now and she's
doing okay. I use it daily, it is soybased so if that's a problem, you still
need to find a way to get your energy level back. Paxil continues to be one of
the worse medications on the market in my opinion. I just couldn't get off of
it.

I'm taking paxil 60 mg, started in 1996, could never taper off, tried with 2
shrinks still couldn't finally got hooked up with a local media woman from
watching 20/20 and found an attorney I sued and got only $24,000 and the
attorney got 40 percent of it, it was nothing almost, I'm hear to say that I
don't think everyone can taper off, I had no problem with prozac but I was a lot
younger, I'm 56 now, and it's pretty much derailed my brain, at least I didn't
get stuck on it when I was in my 20's, the reason for the lawsuit is that
Glaxco, the makers, knew a certain percentage of people would have a problem
tapering off, I am one, and that warning was not given to the US practitioners,
thus a class law suit, and like I am saying not everyone will be able to taper
off. I care for disabled people, I watched a shrink taper a slightly retarded
person off paxil, who tried several times to take her life in that process, that
is outrageous, watching someone
with horrif anxiety because the damn drug company is so greedy about their
money. Even with a very good diet and going very slowly not everyone can do it.
I'm sorry catherine but that's how I feel.

reduce the effects of paxil withdrawal, i've just started a blog to document my
