What we are all about:

Shanghai Outing Club is the place where nature lovers, and hiking enthusiasts living or visiting Shanghai get a chance to get out and explore towns and countrysides in different parts of China. Participants can get in touch with nature and local cultures, as well as meeting new people with the same interests in a relaxed atmosphere. It is always a joy to see people join as strangers and depart with new friendships formed!

What do we do:

Our weekend outings are mostly day or weekend hiking trips.Over the longer holidays we also have overnight trips to further out destinations that are not frequented by conventional tourists.

Who can join:

our past participants ranges from 7 to 70+, and we've had as many as 7 different nationalities in one group. So regardless of your age and nationality, as long as you are comfortable about doing lots of walking, and love to explore the outdoors, come join us, we'll make you feel welcomed.

Memberships and costs:

Right now we have no membership fee to be part of the group. Cost of the trip consists of actual cost, and the cost of trip leader to be shared among participants. Trip leaders are also guaranteed a per-dim for each day that they are on duty with a group. Per-dim rate is as follows:

4 ppl. or less - RMB 450/day
5 - 9 ppl. - RMB 500/day
10 and above - RMB 50/person/day

Payment:

Cash or bank deposit.

Cancellation Policy:

Since the trip cost is largely based on a min. number of people sharing the cost of transportaion, trip leader costs etc. cancelling on a trip may mean that other participants will pay more as a result. Therefore, a portion of the deposit may be deducted to compensate for the extra cost to other participants as a result of the cancellation, plus any non refundable costs charged by 3rd party providers such as penalties for ticketing et
