Hi, Ross, Re the scarcity of European Skippers... At least one European Skipper of my brief acquaintance needs to refine his (presumed) courting techniques. Alindajeays
Low butterfly numbers here also this year, lowest I have ever seen in my life. But no drought last year to blame it on. Spring this year was miserable weather, norbertkondla
Welcome to the Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec Butterfly Observations and Discussion Group at Yahoo! Groups.
This forum is for posting butterfly sightings from Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec so that we can all benefit from each other's observations. Our area of interest roughly includes everything from Algonquin Park south to Presqu’ile Provincial Park and east into the Gatineau region of western Quebec.
We are interested in all sightings as we are maintaining a database of these. Please include as accurate of a location as possible (include coordinates when possible), date and time of observation, observer's name(s)and any other relevant information. In the subject line of your message include the topic of observation at least and then date and location if possible.
A few other important notes. Please do not attach photos in the message but photos may be posted on the group's website at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/butterfly_obs
This helps folks that are on dialup from being overwhelmed by large files. You are also encouraged to start discussions about butterflies in this forum – it is not just for observations. We encourage submission of photos for help in identification from the group.
